Helping people understand and manage fear through practical strategies
Stan Popovich is the author of A Layman’s Guide to Managing Fear and the creator of the Managing Fear Framework. He has lived with anxiety for more than 20 years, and his work has been featured on television, radio, and in more than 100 newspapers and magazines.

What I learned from years of managing fear
“Fear is rarely managed by using only one strategy. What may help one person in a particular situation may not be the right approach for someone else.”
Different situations, challenges and personal experiences can require different approaches. Through my own experiences, research, and interviews with experienced mental health counselors, I discovered the importance of having a variety of tools to better understand and respond to fear.
Learning how fear affects thoughts, emotions and actions can help you explore different strategies and develop an approach that fits your own circumstances.
That understanding became the foundation of the Managing Fear Framework and A Layman’s Guide to Managing Fear. Rather than focusing on one method, my work helps people discover practical strategies they can explore when facing fear, anxiety and stressful situations.
A practical approach built on options
Developed from the ideas in the book, the framework recognizes that managing fear often means learning different techniques and using what helps in each situation. For readers who value faith, some resources include optional faith-based perspectives as an extra source of encouragement.
